Personal Narrative: East Valley Youth Symphony

At the end of my sixth grade year, I received a letter inviting me to audition for the East Valley Youth Symphony. The desire I had to audition was unstoppable. It was as if I was on the battlefield waiting to win the war for everlasting freedom and nothing could stop me.
Soon after, I practiced every scale and piece I knew hoping that I could use one for my audition. Subsequently, I received another letter. It clearly stated that I would have to know two octave scales, up to three sharps and three flats. The world just ended for me. Reading the letter had left me clueless on what two octave scales were, therefore, my parents decided that I needed a private teacher. Thus, we found a college student striving for a bachelor in the arts and she
