It was a Friday night out in Janesville. The weather was warm with a cool breeze, the road was in perfect condition as in for racing. I was with my girlfriend cruising on the strip, along with some friends of mine. They had their own cars to cruise in also. I think during that time I was 17 or 18 years old when I did my mistake. My friends were around 16 years old. We all went out on the strip which is one long road with traffic lights that people race on. The cops were out like crazy pulling people over for racing. I seen about 8 people pulled over that night around 9-10 p.m. That is the usual time all this happens. When the stop light turned green, that's when I knew I messed up taking off quick. Well, as I was at a stoplight, next to me was a Big truck with some guys in there revving at me, giving me that eye contact to race. I didn’t want to race at all that night because the cops were out. When I was sitting in the car while the cop read my plates, I was just a bit scared, had a lot of adrenaline running throughout my body. When she came back she asked me if I was about to race the guy in the big truck. Sometimes you have to lie to get yourself out of trouble, and that's what I did. I said, “No, I honestly wasn't going to race him, I'm new with learning how to drive a manual but had no intent on racing.” All she said was, “Ahh okay, well burning out is against the law and can get you a ticket of $300 and on top of that you're endangering everyone else and yourself if you didn't control the car right.” I said, “Woah $300 ticket for burning out?!? that’s pretty crazy, I’m sorry I did that, but it won't happen again. She asked for license and insurance. As I pulled out everything one thing was missing. My insurance… I knew it was in that packet.
