A pediatric pulmonologist assist in the care of children with respiratory problems. It takes many years of study to become a pulmonologist such as going to college and earning a bachelor's degree. Then you have to apply to medicine school and earn a doctorate of medicine or doctorate of osteopathy degree, this must be an accredited medical school. After completing a school of medicine you have to complete a residency in internal medicine, which takes a minimum of 3 years. another step to becoming a pulmonologist is to pursue specialized training in a pulmonary fellowship and then obtaining a license in order to practice medicine "how to become a pulmonologist". so if you add it all up it would take a total of 11 years to fully become a pulmonologist "pulmonologist". The cost of education and training can be very expensive however the median tuition is 226,447 for just 4 years of schooling at public institution. The the cost to attend a private school for 4 years is 298,538 with that being the median tuition and the cost of fees ranging anywhere from 34,540 to 53,714. Coming from my pulmonologist he said that the best part out of his day is getting to help a different child every day and giving them good test results that they were wanting to hear. Also giving a child a pulmonary function test and it revealing that their lung function has went up, in other words they can breath a little better because the percentage of their lungs went up.
