SWOT Analysis: (Palomar Health System) Strengths: PHS has various health care facilities located in multiple sites across the north county region (e.g., Escondido, San Marcos, Poway, and others). PHS has the only level II trauma center in the north county region (Palomar Health, 2015). Additionally, technology advancement, such as the Da Vinci Robotics has enhanced market competitiveness. PHS is the first to provide this technology in San Diego. The Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System is one of the most advanced technologies available in the hospital; this technique provides 3-Dimensional visualization and increased motion, providing better surgical results for urological and gynecological procedures (High Tech, High Touch, 2015). These multiple facilities and technological advances allow PHS to expand within the market. PHS has bank balances for 2014 and 2013, totaling $48,707,000 and $19,697,000 respectively; which are not exposed to custodial credit risks.
