All great sports teams have to overcome adversity; Notre Dame is no exception. This year, Notre Dame was the first team to deal with injuries that affected their team. Before the season even started, Notre Dame lost senior defensive lineman Jarron Jones and the highly talented freshman defensive back Shaun Crawford. As the season started, on week one Notre Dame versus Virginia Tech, the starting running back junior Tarean Folston injures his knee, taking him out for the rest of the season. The next week, when Notre Dame went up against Virginia, the Heisman hopeful, quarterback Malik Zaire, after coming off an impressive start to the season fractures his ankle taking him out of the games for the season and the Heisman race.
