The source comes from a website that deals with everything New Jersey. Nj.com works with 12 newspapers to bring news to people from all over the state. Nj.com is good for research since it does reports on local and statewide news. The author, Samantha Marcus is educated in journalism and political science based on her LinkedIn Profile. She is also currently a reporter for the Star Ledger. The article shows a great amount of evidence towards the credit downgrades. The title of the article states that there have been 9 downgrades. The article goes over Moody’s Investors Service “dealing the Garden State its record ninth ratings cut since Gov. Chris Christie took office”. Then the article explains about how the downgrade came during Chris Christie’s push for changes in the budget and work system. Moody’s credit rating shows an “urgent need for structural reforms of our public employee pension and health benefits system”. The article also states the change in credit rating from A1 to A2 as rated by Moody, and other rating changes in May and September of last year by another company.
