The year 1997 the New Labour government came into power and one of their key idea was the national Childcare Strategy. The main aim of the strategy was to provide high-quality, inexpensive and approachable childcare. The ministers set out two tests to provide better outcomes for children so that they could be ready to learn when it is time for them to attend school and also make learning exciting, developmental activities out of school hours. The other one is for parents to have a chance to go out there and get work or training. May 1998 the National Childcare Strategy was introduced by the Labour Government and implemented. This programme would include about 600-800 children and services that would be available to all children under four years. Sure Starts brings everything together like childcare, early education, health and family-support services for families with children under 5 years old. The government wanted to fight poverty and give children a better life span. Working with parents, parents-to-be, carers and children to nurture the physical, social, intellectual development of babies and young children so that they can thrive at school and when they get home. The year 2000-2001 the Curriculum guidance for the foundation stage was published in May 2000. It`s intention was to help and support practitioners plan to meet individual needs and all the children’s needs. Some children may go above the early learning goals and some may not meet all the early learning goals. The early learning goals are there for practitioners to help children progress to the next stage. The statutory framework for early year`s foundation stage was published in May 2008 and it was revised over the years, the new framework was published in September
