Classifying the mystery cell. Many plant cells and animal cells have similarities and differences. The difference between a plant cell and animal cell is that plant cells take carbon dioxide and turns it into oxygen while animal cells doesn’t have a rigid cell wall. Cells are the main things in our bodies to maintain a healthy and working body. Animals and plants also need cells to work and function. This happens by active and passive transport. Plant and animals are all around us so it leads to one question, how should the mystery cell be classified? These next paragraphs would be determining how the mystery cell should be classified through method and claim, evidence, and justification. To figure out how the mystery cell should be classified, there would have to be evidence gathered. the mystery cell is classified a plant cell mainly because of the chloroplasts. The chloroplasts’ function is photosynthesis and photosynthesis is how plants get their food which is from sunlight. Some plant cells can have flagellum but it is very rare. In this situation, this cell does. To support the evidence, animal cells has a membrane, but plant cells has a cell membrane and a cell wall, which is visible in the photo. Another characteristic to determine this cell is a plant cell is that it has a large vacuole. Not saying that an animal cell doesn’t have a vacuole but the vacuole in plant cells stores the water and can give the plant support. Also, there was no evidence to show that animal cells has a reservoir. Therefore, the vacuole is technically a reservoir because in the plant cells it helps maintain the water balance.
