1. What are the strengths of the teacher? What does he/she do well be specific with your answer.
Mrs.Kelley seems to always motivate her students in her lessons. She is very positive especially when the students are answering questions. 2. What are 2-3 recommendations you would make to help the teacher improve his/her lesson?
To check students understanding, make sure to do a exit card or ask them to reflect.
Also, doing group works can help students to communicate better with their peers (think-pair-share). 3. What accommodations did you observe?
In the beginning of the video, one of the students had a behavior sheet. Having a behavior sheet teachers can check…show more content… She uses pictures and a strategy poster to engage the students. Spelling out words can be difficult for students, so having pictures can help them make comparisons and remember information. 2. What are 2-3 recommendations you would make to help the teacher improve his/her lesson?
To make the teacher improve her lesson, I would add breaks. For example, a student may be struggling spelling out a word and may feel embarrassed or frustrated. If the student goes take a break, they can refresh their mind and start over again.
Also, having mini games can help the teacher check for student’s understanding. They will be learning and having fun at the sametime. 3. What accommodations did you observe?
I notice that she broke down the instructions and slowly started saying it to the students. Breaking down directions into chunks can help students to understand the question in the most simplest form.
Having the students restate information. 4. Other comments: I like how she is able to have a one-to-one conversation with her students.
