people make a trip to go visit mount shasta so they can clear their head. It is one of the most famous places known to have special spirits that helps so a lot of people go to visit that. Mount shasta is a sacred site for the Wintu tribe which originated in the northern california.One of the most famous origin stories of this place is the mis misa. Mis mis is about a spirit that lives within the mountain that balances everything out. They believe Mis misa keeps everything perfectly positioned the way it is so that it doesn't disrupt anything and the world doesn’t go into chaos and it keeps the earth with the rest of the universe. “Mis Misa tells us that Akoo-yet (mount Shasta) was the first mountain created, long ago, and that it is a spiritual place. it is a mountain that must be worshipped not only for its special beauty and its unique power, but also because it holds mis Misa deep within.” (Wilson Darryl) The wintu origin story are usually taught so people can listen to them and then apply the lessons from the stories to everyday
