Mt. Semotus is a civilization developed in the crater of a dormant volcano. It contains many geographic features that aid in the survival of its inhabitants. The whole island is composed of a forest, plains, two lakes, a large river, and small tributaries framing the river, as shown on the map provided. The forest separates the lakes and has many things to offer the people of the civilization. It has edible plants and animals to hunt. That is the reason why the area closest to the forest is most densely populated. The lakes are used for travel, as well as for fishing and for water.
