MGM Resorts International is a Nevada based hospitality, gaming and entertainment company. MGM Resort’s history, global presence, unique initiatives and branding, comprehensive amenities, and casino experience make MGM Resorts International a big player in the casino industry. Along with MGM’s Las Vegas properties it also operates Nevada’s Circus Circus Reno, Railroad Pass and Gold Strike. In Detroit Michigan, the company and its partners operate MGM Grand Detroit; and in Mississippi they have the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, and Gold Strike Tunica. Internationally, MGM Resorts operates the MGM Macau Resort and Casino where revenue is generated primarily from gaming operations. “Gaming operations at MGM Macau are conducted under a gaming sub concession held by MGM Grand Paradise.” With success on the rise, MGM Resorts International has begun expanding across the United States with new ventures beyond gaming. After wandering through the marble halls and flower atrium of the Bellagio, I felt like I was in another world. Recognized for their high-end retail, award winning dining, and even fine art, it may just be the dancing fountains that attract crowds to the Bellagio. It all screams luxury in a fantasy world. When I visited Las Vegas, I stayed at The Mirage, another MGM brand and had an incredible experience, awed by the variety of dining and entertainment choices. Partnerships with Cirque du Soleil and other entities broaden the appeal, offering other activities besides gaming. Though this particular casino resort isn’t necessarily segmented as “luxury”, it does contribute significantly to the bottom line – and it was still an amazing stay. In Reno, Circus Circus targets the mainstream with rates starting at $39 and family friendly circus shows and activities on the midway. Each MGM brand strives to create a good experience for all of their guests at each of their properties, with a little bit for everyone.
