In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Mercutio affects the play with his personality and actions by causing the turning point of the play. To start, Mercutio is a clown known for his comedian personality because he makes puns and jokes in almost every scene. An example of his clown personality would be when he jokes about his death so much the other characters don’t know he’s dying.
