Society is brought up to believe that marriage is as simple as a bond between two people who share the same values and desires, yet we scrutinize anyone who does not follow the acceptable norms. Western culture devalues those who do not follow the stereotypical roles of a male or female or accompany in same-sex marriage. Society becomes open-minded as the individuals who are a part of the minority fight for freedom.
