The reformation was a time of change during the sixteenth century where people took a stand against the church. On October thirty-first in 1517, a Franciscan monk named Luther, was infuriated with the church and could not keep his thoughts to himself so he wrote down his grievances in the form on ninety five theses and posted them on the door of the church. Luther wanted other clergy members to read them and open a discussion with him, but instead someone translated the theses from Latin to German and put them through the printing press. In no time Luther's Ideas spread throughout Europe. The rebellions against the church during the period of the reformation was caused by religious differences, political obstacles, and economic issues.
