Initially, heroes are brave and courageous. Two examples of heroes fitting those standards would be police and firefighters. These people risk their lives everyday to save the lives of others. They are in danger of getting killed every second they’re on duty, whether it is by a criminal or by getting caught in the flames of a burning building. They would die just so someone else could live. Lieutenant Joe Torrillo is a hero. He was an active fireman in New York City on the day of the 9/11 attack. Despite his prior plans for the day, Torrillo immediately knew something was terribly wrong when the first plane hit.
