Another great example of racism in a classic Disney film would be, The Siamese cats in “Lady and the Tramp” (2). The cats have buck-teeth, slanted eyes, and speak in ridiculously exaggerated accents. One could say they are portrayed as cunning, manipulative, and evil. The Siamese cats are the first thing I think of whenever I hear anyone talk about Lady and the Tramp. I think it is due to how “over the top” the cats are. In the song they sing, “we are Siamese if we please” is one of the first songs I learned to play on the piano. This is not the only racist stereotype seen in this film.
