Harrison Bergeron, by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. is a short story that took place in the United States, year 2081. The citizens of the U.S. were equal in every way possible. Those who were more intelligent, attractive, stronger, or talented, wore handicaps that would stop them from becoming more advanced than others. A 14 year old boy named Harrison, wore the most handicaps than anyone ever, due to the fact that he was very intelligent, and handsome. He was thrown in jail for plotting to overthrow the government, but has escaped. He is known for his tremendous strength and a plethora of self-confidence.
