My famous Mississippian is Kent Hull. Hull was born on January 13, in 1961. Kent was born in Pontotoc Mississippi. Kent went to high school at Greenwood High from 1975-1978. Hull played basketball and football in high school. After high school he went to college at Mississippi State University from 1979-1982. Kent played football in 1979 to 1982 at Mississippi State. Kent was a four year starter for State. In 1979, Kent got First team All-SEC Freshman. Hull got Second team All-SEC in 1980. Kent Hull was inducted into the Mississippi State sports hall of fame in 2000. After playing for Mississippi State, Hull started his professional career. Hull got the Ralph C. Wilson Distinguished Service Award in 2001. Kent was the nineteenth person to the Wall of Fame at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Buffalo in 2002. In the time Hull played for the Bill’s they won seven division titles, got to the playoffs eight times, and made a record of appearing in four straight Super Bowls. December in 1996, he retired to the family farm of 2,500 acres in Greenwood Mississippi. Kent had two kids, Ellen and Drew. Ellen was a girl, and Drew was a boy. Kent said that his greatest football memory, even including the Super Bowl’s was when he played at Mississippi State University.
