Members of the Capitol, taking the position of the bourgeoisie, are immoral. In the novel, Katniss is reflecting on the Capitol’s lifestyle. ‘What must it be like, I wonder, to live in a world where food appears at the press of a button?’ Although this shows the Capitols wealth and class, it makes the reader question as to whether the Capitol would survive without the ‘button’. This gives you the impression that the Capitol have not evolved as much as society would have expected them to, as if they were stuck in the vicious cycle of exploiting the lower class in order to get what they want. So although the upper class ‘twinkles like a vast field of fireflies’ (chapter 6), they do not have the knowledge needed to hunt, or take care of themselves
