History
Before being Kate Spade, the designer was known as Katherine Brosnahan, a girl who was born in December 1962 and spent her school days in Catholic schools for women only, in her hometown of Kansas City. In the accessories department, Katherine became known as "Kate". And it was in New York City that she met Andy Spade, partner projects and who would become her husband later; it was an essential component of one of today's most recognized brands.
After five productive years in Mademoiselle and the title of editor of fashion and accessories department head, Kate left the magazine to pursue her dream of creating her own line of handbags.
