I grew up in a very baseball oriented home but I never really felt in tune with the game until I turned ten. Before that point baseball was just on and everyone else was watching, but when I turned ten that was the point where I learned to watch. I received one of my finest lessons from baseball. For me baseball is America’s game. There is a clear and interesting interlocking relationship between baseball and American history. From Joe DiMaggio helping the country on the brink of war to Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier, baseball has always had its finger on the American pulse.
