Trauma and Tension Release (Rough Draft)
General Purpose: To inform
Specific Purpose: To inform my audience how the Trauma Release Process affects us as humans and how we can use it
Central Idea: Trauma Release is beneficial in allowing us to reset our physical and psychological systems after a traumatic event.
INTRODUCTION
I. Attention grabber (show video)
II. What you just saw in the video was a polar bear who had been stunned during a scientific research expedition on National Geographic. The tremoring you witnessed was the natural tension release process the body goes through after a traumatic event to allow itself to let off stress and relax.
III. Dr. David Berceli PhD has studied this process extensively and how to bring about this process in humans. Today I’d like to talk to you about what exactly trauma release is and what its benefits are.
Transition: I, myself, have been through Dr. Berceli’s tension release certification program.

A. Trauma is defined as a very difficult or unpleasant experience that causes someone to have mental or emotion problems, or as a serious injury to the body. (Websters Dictionary)
B.…show more content… When we are traumatized, whether psychological, emotional, or through a physical threat to ourselves, we go into a state of fight, flight, or fright. I’m sure most of you have heard of this before but have you really thought about what happens to your body when this occurs? Imagine someone walking down a dark alley in the city, as you do someone approaches and threatens you in some way. Maybe your instinct is to fight this person to defend yourself. As you do so, you go into what we call a boxers stance (show stance). You bring your fists and elbows in close to your body, you slightly crunch yourself in, and you prepare for whatever is going to happen
