Speech Title: Pregnancy Trimesters
General Purpose: To inform about pregnancy
Specific Purpose: The development that takes place within each trimester of pregnancy
INTRODUCTION
I. Attention getter: Everyone loves a brand new baby, all cute and cuddly.
II. Statement of significance: Having a baby is a great deal of responsibility. One decision that should not be taken lightly. Knowing what takes place may help you in this decision process.
III. Establish credentials: Personally they are some of my most favorite to have in daycare. On a good day they sleep well and I get time to do school work, such as the reading in my Psychology 101 text book about the growth and development of a fetus.

B. When baby reaches 37 to 40 weeks in trimester three, it is considered full term and safe for baby to be born. (Women’s Health, 2010) 1. At full term, organs ready to function on their own. (Women’s Health, 2010) 2. The position of the baby changes and prepares for birth. (Gough, 2015) Transition: Finally we have that brand new, cute, and cuddly baby we all love to hold and adore.
CONCLUSION:
I. Restatement of significance: Having a baby is a great deal of responsibility. One decision that should not be taken lightly. Knowing what takes place may help you in this decision process.
II. Review of Main Pts.: Trimesters 1, 2, and 3 total and average of 40 weeks allowing the fetus to develop organs, bones, skin, and much more. 40 weeks may seem like a long time but can change your life forever.
III. Closing device: Please remember when making the decision to have a baby you are holding the life of another person in your hands from the very first trimester of life.
