DUBAI’S INFRASTRUCTURES INTRODUCTION This research project is about one of the interesting topics to be discussed here, the productive infrastructures of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This is one of the factors that makes the city shines among the other famous places from around the world. What is infrastructure? Infrastructures are technical structures and fundamental facilities that serve a country or nation. These structures include bridges, buildings, towers, electrical grids, roads, telecommunication and so forth. These infrastructures satisfy the needs of a nation’s economy to grow and be productive. The government used multidisciplinary consultancy when they were still contemplating on the design and structure of the building. They were thinking to mimic the sail of a ship. Thus, the hotel has become a state of the art foundation which proves that incredible and unique design of a hotel can come into reality. However, to stay in the hotel is expensive because of the elegant and beautiful design of each of the rooms and suites in the hotel. This is also the reason why the hotel is noted as the only “seven star hotel” but the developer does not want it even in the advertising the tem is not used. BurjKhalifa BurjKhalifa, known as Burj Dubai before its inauguration, is a megatall skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. - The reception of the opening of the building is generally positive as it received many awards from different award-giving bodies from around the world. However, the structure faced several controversies like that the construction of the building was done from laborers from Asia who earned low wages. - One of the nice premises alongside with the BurjKhalifa is the Dubai fountain. The fountain shoots water accompanied by classical to contemporary Arabic and world music. There are also 50 coloured projectors. - Another attraction in the burj is the observatory deck or the top wherein the Downtown Dubai can be seen from above. This is the beautiful view of the place. - There is also the BurjKhalifa Park wherein people can stay and relax while enjoying the services from different establishments within the park and mall. C. Atlantis, the Palm This structure is located at the apex of the Palm Jumeirah and was the first resort to build on an island. The theme of the structure is the myth of Atlantis which includes the distinct Arabian elements. The architect was a design firm named the Wimberly, Allison, Tong and Goo (WATG) which is an international firm specialized in designing Luxury Hotels from different countries around the world.
