I am proposing to write my report on Howard Hughes’ biography, or semi-biography, during the Great Depression. I will cover his economic successes during America’s most difficult time. He intrigues me because I often hear of people who were affected negatively by the great depression; it is rare to hear stories of success. Howard Hughes was not affected by the market crash nor did he struggle economically between the late 1920’s through the late 1930’s. While 13 to 15 million Americans were out of work and half of the country’s banks had failed, Howard Hughes’ career was only succeeding. During this economic pitfall, he managed to produce the most expensive movie of the time and form an aircraft company. I am interested in investigating how
