Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, commonly known as Michelangelo, was an Italian sculptor, painter, architect, poet, and engineer of the High Renaissance. Michelangelo was born in Tuscany and would grow up to be a famous painter. Although Michelangelo was a very prestigious painter who often proclaimed to be a genius and inspired himself, his great works says otherwise. The masterpieces surrounding Michelangelo were possibly his best teachers. The work of early Renaissance masters such as Ghiberti, Ghilandaio, and Giovianni made an impact on the young Michelangelo who preferred to draw instead of doing his school work, much to his father’s disapproval. More of his present work shows his interest in divinity and how he depicts god is very interesting to some. As you look more at his paintings a lot of them are really in touch with the religious community. When it comes to Fresco paintings it really shows in his later years.
