CGI has changed the film industry and created new ways to create and produce films in ways that we have never seen before. It is now used in plenty of films for creatures like dinosaurs for example. It is even used for camera movement and lighting. CGI also helped create the video games that we now know today. The Abyss was the first movie to ever successfully make extensive use of CGI technology, by making a living column of water in an ocean. Now plenty of environments are made partially or entirely using CGI to make everything fit. Some movies like, Bridge to Terabithia, use a mixture of both human elements and CGI to create new creatures. CGI is used to make our imagination come to life on the screen. CGI originated from a group of Russian mathematicians and physicists in 1968. The person credited for making it is know as N. Kanstantinov, because he made a mathematical model that could move a cat across a screen that was digitally made. This model became a program known as BESM-4. BESM-4 was able to create hundreds of frames that could be converted to useable film material. BESM-4 helped make CGI what is today in a big way.…show more content…
