Evidence Rosencrantz and Guildenstern act as false friends throughout the play. They spy on Hamlet from orders of King claudius as well as bring the execution letters for Hamlet's death. This shows that Horatio is Hamlet’s only true friend and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern definitely are not. Analysis In act 1 Scene 2 Horatio feels that it is duty to make sure he informs Hamlet that he has seen the ghost of the King Hamlet’s Father.
