Homemade Peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches - including the crust with a glass of milk- they were the holy grail item of lunch time after school in the Ukpaby household. My mom used to pick us up from kindergarten everyday at 12pm and by 12:15pm we would be at home. My mom would start the sandwiches immediately after arrival as my twin sister and I sat downstairs in the family room watching PBS Kids. After everything was finished we would set the table and prepare to dig in. Being a "foody", food had always been comforting for me; From being a chubby-cheeked impatient baby at meal time, all the way to an athletic teenager with the appetite of a dragon.
