Holmes vs. House
One of my favorite shows on TV is “House”, not only does his arrogance make me laugh but his intelligence and wit gravitates and inspires me to watch him. I have never paid much attention to the similarities, but according to an interview in Zap2It by Katie O’Hare in January 2005, Creator of “House” (David Shore) said "...Anytime one says 'puzzle' and 'brilliant deduction' in the same sentence, one can't help but think of the great fictional detective Sherlock Holmes and his trusty sidekick, Dr. Watson. And indeed, Holmes -- and the real-life physician that inspired him, Dr. Joseph Bell -- were very much inspirations for 'House.'" So I began to look and compare House and Holmes and found many similarities between the two.…show more content… Holmes is very close to “Homes” and you will notice that Dr. House is similar too. Even their friends/sidekicks, John Watson and James Wilson, have similar sounding names. The relationship between Holmes and Watson is comparable to the relationship between House and Wilson. Holmes and House are the Alpha-males who control the relationship, while Watson and Wilson are their subordinates. House and Holmes can be verbally abusive towards Watson and Wilson, but their loyal friends seem to always put up with the abuse.
