Chapter four of Garbology begins with David Steiner, the CEO of Waste Management, Inc. He’s trying to turn this company and the world green. While the idea is still long from becoming a reality, it has come much farther than ever before. His goal is to eventually pay people for their trash and make billions of dollars from that garbage. WMI was started by a Dutch immigrant called Harm Huizenga and his son-in-law, Dean Buntrock. WMI is an accumulation of several different dumps that they bought up to make WMI. This company was very corrupt and faced several fines. The biggest scandal they were caught in was for massive fraud and inside trading.
