Forensic Artist Research Paper

342 Words2 Pages
Forensic artists create work alongside law enforcement to either free-hand or compute reconstructions of those involved in crime. This art is used to identify, apprehend, and even convict criminals and in some cases, victims. They do so much beyond merely facial sketches, though. They are often called onto crime scenes to sketch a model or to create a scale diagram. They strive for perfection in their replications, and are in some cases called into court to testify. For the most part, the education required to become a forensic artist is not extremely excruciating. Generally, merely obtaining an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in graphic art or design will suffice for those interested in this field; however, a formal degree is not required.
