Superego And Humanity Humans are defined as having sexual and aggressive drives through the scope of a Psychoanalytic lens. Psychoanalytic theorists believe that human behavior is deterministic. Irrational forces govern it, also the unconscious, as well biological drives and instinctual. Due to this deterministic nature of lens, psychoanalytic theorists do not believe in free will. Fight Club novel is an ideal example of Psychoanalytical theory. As social beings, most of the human feel the necessity for rewarding social contact and relationships with people. One common definition of loneliness is that it is the feeling human get when their necessity for this type of interaction is not met. Loneliness can have an important impact on human’s mental health. It can contribute to mental illness also problems like anxiety and depression. Loneliness often occurs in human life. Human never likes to live alone. Human need accompany to live in this earth. If anyone always stays alone, it affect a lot. He becomes socially separated from everyone. He always stays sad and doesn’t like to talk. The man who is suffering in loneliness can’t laugh naturally. He feels scared to face the outside world. “You have a kind of sick desperation in your laugh.”(Tyler Durden, Fight Club). To live a happy life human need’s some to talk, to express their feelings and sadness. Sometime some people become frustrated for loneliness. They try to find new ways to detach loneliness. It often leads them to do misdeed. It makes a man separated from the world. He starts to hate everyone. He does crimes and other bad works. For many reason human experiences loneliness. Human is the best because of their brain. Only human have power to jazz right and wrong. “If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?”(Albert Einstein). Human is the best creature for the decision taking power, for the humanity According to Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory of personality; Personality is composed of three elements. These three elements of personality are known as the id, the ego and the superego. They work together to create complex human behaviors. Id is a nature of human behavior, which influences human to get everything. It’s pleasure principle. It works to satisfy human’s needs which is driven by the unconscious part of brain. It influences human to get things like sex, food, drug etc. Even it shows the wrong ways to get these. It separates humanity from a human. It makes a person selfish. It drives him to do bad works and fulfill his own needs only. However, immediately satisfying these needs is not always realistic or even possible. According to Freud, the id tries to resolve the tension created by the pleasure principle through the primary process, which involves forming a mental image of the desired object as a way of satisfying the need. On the other hand the superego is the aspect of personality that holds all of our internalized moral standards and ideals that we acquire from both parents and society.
