“Once More to the Lake,” is an intimate essay written by E.B. White, about his memories of his father taking him to a lake every summer and now, as an adult, he takes his son to that very same lake. During his revisit to that lake, he recalled on many experiences he had with his own father years ago. He would reminisce one thing from another to: swimming in the saltwater, to going fishing with his father, and waking up early in the morning to sneak out of the cabin to steer away in a canoe. He was reliving once again the same sensations, same atmosphere and the same people. This is how E.B. White kept feeling he was being in his son’s place.
