I conducted interviews with FAS and FAO staff program members in Washington DC., Rome, and Nairobi , and reviewed documentation regarding the process of selection of the fellows, the countries that were represented, the rate of completion of the programs, their performance at the host institutions, whether lasting professional relationships were developed between the fellows and the host institution mentors, any measures of the success/failure of the fellows upon returning to their home institution and whether the graduating fellows continue to have membership with the program.
