After The Civil Rights Act of 1964 there have been many female rulers. Today it is not uncommon to see a female in a leading position. Before 1964 it was frowned upon to see a female be a leader. Even though it was not liked there were many female rulers who became leaders. In this paper I am going to compare and contrast between two ancient female rulers then compares them with a modern leader. Tang Empress Wu Zetian (also known as Empress Wu and Wu Zhao) ruled China around 690-705 AD. Wu was born in 624 and her parents were rich and came from a noble family. When she was a child she was taught to read and write Chinese classics and to play music. Empress Wu Zetian of the Tang Dynasty was the only known female monarch of China.
