The study was guided by the following objectives: to assess the effects of the control environment on financial performance of FIDA Uganda; to examine the effects of the control activities on financial performance of FIDA Uganda and to establish the effects of the monitoring on financial performance of FIDA Uganda. A descriptive and cross sectional design was used. The study predominantly employed a quantitative approach but also used a qualitative approach. The study population consisted of 65 participants. A sample size of 56 was selected. Simple random and purposive ssampling techniques were employed to choose respondents. Quantitative data analysis mainly consisted of descriptive statistics (percentages and mean). Content analysis was used to analyze qualitative data. Findings revealed a positive effect of control environment on financial performance of FIDA Uganda (r =.787, P-value=.015). This is because the management undertakes staff recruitment background checks, staff appraisal/feedback, has own ethical values which are vital in addressing accountability problems. On second objective, it was revealed that control activities had a positive effect on financial performance of FIDA Uganda (r =.818, P-value=.017). This is because the management is responsive in preventing fraud, the management clearly allocates authorities to approve every fund and there is an appropriate supervision by senior staff on the work of their juniors. Lastly, monitoring activities had a positive effect on financial performance of FIDA Uganda (r =.572, P-value=.044).
