Our world is a very small dot on the map of our galaxy, the Milky Way, but our galaxy is also just a small dot on the map of the universe. Even with it’s small size, the Earth is everything for us, the human race. Our Earth is a planet full of diversity in ideas and knowledge, but it’s a connecting point for the human race. This connecting point allows us to be one big family when looking down from the rest of the universe. We may be a rather large unconventional family, but because of this shared trait between everyone, a family nonetheless. When he’s introduced, Kristoff is a young boy who is working hard to get an ice block. His role models are clearly visible throughout the scene as he is seen mimicking their work, yet it’s learned that they aren’t his family. He has no family except his reindeer Sven. This changes after Kristoff decides to follow a magic ice trail where he meets a family of trolls who instantly adopt him. He grew up with these trolls and lives in the unconventional family since he is not related to them. These trolls act in place of the traditional family for Kristoff. There are paternal figures, brotherly, sisterly, and other family figures represented in the tribe of trolls. She’ll do nicely for our Kristoff” (Maia Wilson). Notice the maternal aspect when Bulda says “Our Kristoff,” she is acting with motherly characteristics, while not being related to Kristoff. At this point it’s visible that Disney is connecting with those children who may not have traditional paternal figures, or even traditional families. With the changing atmosphere around family, this allows Disney to attract more viewers as a person is more likely to see a film if they connect with it emotionally. The trolls and Kristoff are…show more content…

The viewer can see this during song “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” in which Anna is shown needing someone to connect with as she sings, “Elsa? Please, I know you're in there, people are asking where you've been they say "have courage", and I'm trying to I'm right out here for you. Please let me in. We only have each other. It's just you and me. What are we gonna do?” (Kristen Bell) Here Anna is ready to enter Elsa’s life, yet Elsa still refuses to let her enter. It wasn’t until the coronation where Elsa tried to connect with Anna, and when she did that the result was the reveal of Elsa’s powers. This resulted in Elsa running away thinking that Anna was the cause for her reveal, but it Disney trying to portray that love has no boundaries and can expose the true self. Anna and Elsa had shared a moment that reminded them of their sisterly love during the scene, breaking boundaries and allowing Elsa to reveal herself to Anna. It may not have been the way that Elsa wanted to show her powers to the world, as she was branded a “Monster” by the Duke of
