Pop music is a genre of popular music, which originated in its modern form in the 1950s, deriving from rock and roll. Two contemporary songs that would fall into the “pop” category would be “Crush” by Selena Gomez and”Crush” by David Archuleta. Both songs are extremely similar, including their song title, genre of music, and nearly the name meaning behind “Crush”. Gomes and Archuleta still retain their unique voice and perspectives while living in the limelight of Hollywood.
