ΑΟΠ - Alpha Omicron Pi ΑΟΠ ( Alpha Omicron Pi ) is women’s fraternity or sorority with both national and international chapters whose goals are to promote lifetime friendships, inspire academic excellence, and build leadership through service to the sorority and society. January 2nd, 1897, marks the founding of Alpha Omicron Pi in the Barnard College of the University of Columbia in New York. Stella George Stern Perry, Helen St. Claire Mullan, Elizabeth Heywood Wyman, and Jessie Wallace Hughan were the four founding sister who made Alpha Omicron Pi a reality. The four young women met in the Columbia Law Library where they began to set the stepping stones for the sorority and where they built a lifetime friendship among themselves, and the future members of Alpha Omicron Pi.
