One of the production techniques that the police dramas use are slow motion (p.184). This falls under the category of camerawork (p.183). Another one is framing and that is basically how the actors and props look to the audience, captured by the camera (p.189). There are many different kinds of shots that are used, like the establishing shot which shows the audience the location and gives them a good sense of where the scene is taking place (p.189 -190).
