Then, all programs that access the data in the database work through the database management system. The database management system uses the data dictionary to look up the required data component structures and relationships, thus relieving you from having to code such complex relationships in each program. In addition, any changes made in a database structure are automatically recorded in the data dictionary. So that, you are free from having to modify all of the programs that access the changed structure. In other words, the database management system provides data abstraction, and it removes structural and data dependence from the…show more content…
Highlight the differences between data and information There are many differences between the meanings of these two words even used interchangeably. Both data and information are types of knowledge or something used to gain knowledge in our daily life. Data refers to the raw material that may be present in an unorganized facts that need to be processed until organized properly. It can be something simple and seemingly random and useless until it is organized. Information usually is the process outcome of data where the data is processed, organized, structured or presented in a given context to make it useful. We can perceive data with our senses, and the brain can process this. But information allows us to expand our knowledge beyond the range of our senses. A group of data which conveys some meaningful ideas is an information. When data is collated into something meaningful, this is an information. Besides that, if data is at the lowest level in the series, information is placed at the next processed. As an example, there is a picture of a girl with brown hair.
