During the Fall season I love to bake. It gives the house a warm feel and a great smell fills the home when you start to cook and bake. The best part is that I find this to be one of the most affordable seasons of the year. Don't worry I'm not going to overload you with a bunch of fattening recipe although their will be a few in their. Costco however has some very healthy options to choose from and you can really stock up on those pantry staples that will last you through the entire winter season, even when they are not on sale the prices are good. Shoprite also has some great stock up items and prices for those must have winter items. In the next two weeks I will be sharing some of my favorite winter themed recipes that I hope you will enjoy making yourself. If you have a pantry space to store them in great. If you don't you can store4 them away in the ziplock bags and keep them in the bottom of your fridge. Yes flour can go in your fridge, it's OK. Sugar (Both brown and White are used for baking) The sugar can be stored the same way that the flour is stored if you are short on spaced. Place in the Ziplock bags and store them away for later use. Salt (I like to use the large sea salt) If you use salt in moderation in your recipes than the Costco salt should last you the entire winter season. I like the sea salt but you can go with whatever option you choose. Baking Powder If you plan to do a lot of baking then you will want to make sure you are stocked up on the baking powder. At Costco you can really stock up and for a reasonable price. Just one container should last you for the winter
