Not All Terrorists Are Muslim Nobody wants to be the soldier captured by terrorists in Iraq or Afghanistan, only to spend the next few months enduring a harsh torture. For the estimated nine million American Adults (According to the Williams Institute review of 2011) and countless minors that identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, or Transgendered, that fear is a real and prevalent danger in their day-to-day lives. Many Christian extremists force their children to endure conversion therapy in order to train them not to be gay. Conversion therapy is an aggressive treatment aimed at homosexual and transgender people that involves a series of treatments that are described by patients as emotionally and physically harmful, especially to children and young adults whose families and social groups have already alienated them. Although some people claim conversion therapy is a religious right, this is not a viable excuse to subject LGBT+ people to such a harmful practice due to its lack of scientific evidence to prove its effectiveness and excess of evidence to prove its emotionally damaging nature.…show more content…
Organizations such as Exodus Global Alliance, Exodus International, EnCourage, and Living Waters Canada disagree with scientific advancements regarding the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender community (LGBT+), and instead offer conversion therapy. In an attempt to change their friends, family members, and even children into straight, cisgendered, Christian individuals, some choose to enroll their loved ones in conversion therapy (also known as aversion therapy, gender reorientation therapy, and sexual reorientation therapy). While legal in forty eight out of the fifty states of America, conversion therapy is more protected under the law than LGBT+
