I almost fell out my chair when I came across Jacob Riis on the list, as I've always had an interest in the muckrakers of his time (around the turn of the 20th century), including Upton Sinclair and Theodore Roosevelt. Additionally, I've had my interest increase in the homeless/less-fortunate in my neighborhood.
