Pat Scott 12/16/2014 Block 6 English Poets in the 1920’s There were many great writers in the 1920’s that influenced all of the modern day poets. Robert Frost and Zora Neale Hurston are good examples of great writers from the 1920’s. They both had their own unique styles of writing. And both people left their own impact on other modern poets and many to come. Both Robert and Zora had amazing lives and great impacts on the world through their unique writing styles of poetry. Robert Frost was born on March 26, 1874 in San Francisco, California.He lived there for 12 years until his father died in 1886. After his father died he moved to Lawrence Massachusetts with his mother and sister. He then went to live with his grandparents and started going to high school at Lawrence High where he met his future wife Elinor White. After high school he then went to Dartmouth college. In 1894 he wrote his first poem “My Butterfly: an Elegy”. Later In 1897 Robert went to Harvard University then 2 years later had to drop out due to health concern. He returned home to his wife and his newborn child and later they moved to New Hampshire. This was when he wrote some of his most well known poems.…show more content…

Robert Frost died on Jan 29, 1963 in Boston at the age of 88. He is buried at the Old Bennington Cemetery in Bennington, Vermont and will always be remembered for his amazing works as a
