Poe was not thinking of Ebola when he created the red death. They have multiple facts proving they are different, one being their symptoms. The red death and Ebola are different, but they do have some similarities. However, the differences cause you to realize they are not the same disease. Edgar Allan Poe was not writing about Ebola, he made up his own disease. While the red death and Ebola are two different diseases, they do have some similar symptoms, although they are slightly different. One symptom they both have is blood loss. If you have one of the diseases,you would bleed out of you ears, eyes, and mouth. However, you also bleed out of your pores if you have the red death. Both of these diseases are fatal, so if you get one, you will die. Both of these diseases have multiple symptoms, but the majority are different. Both f these diseases strike fear in the hearts of everyone that has even the slightest chance of catching one of them. These diseases cause fear because they are deadly, and neither have a cure.
