By the 1700s, the English settlers of the Chesapeake and New England were two very different societies. Many factors play into the reason why, the reasons for settlement play a key factor of course because it affects the views the settlers have and how they form or hold themselves. Immigrants also come into effect depending on how many of who immigrate where. The geography of the two places also contrasts and this causes the two to build around different economies and cultures. The Chesapeake and New England colonies grew apart because their reasons for settlement, immigrants and their geography was different. Reasons for settlement in New England is mainly for religious reasons except for New Hampshire which was founded for economic reasons.
