Hatchet and A Cry in the Wild were both good at telling the story. However, I think the book Hatchet did a better job with the detail of the imagery. Naturally, a movie such as A Cry in the Wild would have better opportunity to show imagery and it does, but Hatchet gave more description. An example is when Brian made his first bow. In Hatchet it said when the first bow snapped two splinters went right above his eye brows. In A Cry in the Wild the bow just snapped then it went to the next scene. When talking about foreshadowing both did very good. However, despite them both using roughly the same foreshadowing A Cry in the Wild had one thing that Hatchet could never have. Can you guess?
